The most recent of those hints came from the newly released cinematic players will see after they finish the later steps in the War Campaign. Even ignoring the general complaints from some - but not all - players that the faction conflict is outdated, the game itself is dropping hints left and right. You'll also get a First Time Buyer pack for free which is also useful.More and more lately, World of Warcraft seems to be headed for some sort of major change in factions as we know them. You can transfer whatever you make on the Jem to any other alt on our account.Īnd on that, if you plan to stick around for any length of time, drop a little cash and get the Elite Starter Pack. Otherwise you'll have to wait until you level your main. You'll start at level 60 so you can do DOFFs, and more importantly Admiralty and Endeavor Missions. Once again once you've learnt some you can pick a ship type that "better" suits you. I actually like ground combat now.Īs to ships, at this stage I'd say just fly what you want. And also I quite enjoy summoning loads of turrets/mines/etc when in ground combat. I've settled on light cruisers and battlecruisers so that works well for me. Now to you want to be SCI, ENG, or TAC? I suck at SCI, they seem to be quite specialised, TAC is the "easiest" and most of my alts are TAC (including my old main), but all of my newer alts (and my new main) are ENG. You get multiple character slots so just try them all in whatever order you want. Once you learn the game some then you can decide if you want the TOS Fed to be your main or try something else. It's not a job, just go with what you want. Honestly i'd say for a new player a KDF aligned Romulan is by far the best choice you get the superior storyline while leveling for the first time and access to the Klingon's stupidly good doff asignments. Jem'Hadar are so barebones it's not even funny, one unique story mission then you get dumped onto whatever faction you chose to align with a level 60 char and mountains of missions to do. Marauding hands down completely outclasses Starfleets Diplomacy doff asignments and BoP's offer some very versitile if fragile gameplay options. KDF have a decent story for themselves too but the Romulan one outshines it. Also if you go KDF aligned you get Marauding as well which is honestly one of the best things in the game for a new player as it shits useful stuff. Warbird's are unique to the faction with singularity powered ships and battlecloaks for everyone and you also like the Jem'Hadar get acess to your chosen factions ships too. Romulans as others have said have by far the best storyline leveling up. On the other hand TOS Federation has serious limitations in terms of customisation compaired to the regular Federation (Remember you'll have them on everything that isn't a TOS ship as well so if you think they look silly on a Defiant that will be a problem.) The TOS missions are good though the 22nd century arc is short so most of your leveling will be via the standard Federation storyline which is honestly abit weak. TOS Fed is the option if you want to play Feddie's and the classic sfx don't bug you.
